But who will win - Cork or Dublin?

For the first year, the 10k race will kick off in both cities at the same time. Every runner's time counts as the city with the fastest average wins.

What time does the race start?
  • Both Cork and Dublin races start at 9pm.
How do I enter?
  • All participants must enter online by mid-day on Weds 23rd April 2014.
How much is the entry fee and what does it include?
  • The entry fee is €31.50 (plus €1.50 processing and administration charge).
  • Race fee includes entry to the race, timing chip, number, race shirt, finishers medal and goodie bag.
  • Proceeds will go toward our Digital Schools Solution. This initiative provides Samsung technology to schools in Cork and Dublin. Find out more.
Is there a cut off time?
  • Yes. The cut off time for the completion of the 10km route in Cork and Dublin is strictly one hour and twenty minutes.
Are toilets provided on the route?
  • Yes. There will be adequate toilet facilities pre-race at the start area.
Where will race registration take place?
  • Dublin registration will take place in Trinity College Sports Centre on the following dates and times
    • Friday 25th April 11:00 - 20:00
    • Saturday 26th April 11:00 – 18:00
    • Sunday 27th April 11:00 – 16:00
  • Cork registration will take place in the Millennium Hall (Cork City Hall) on the following dates and times
    • Saturday 26th April 11:00 – 18:00
    • Sunday 27th April 12:00 – 16:00
Will there be a group warm up for the race?
  • A group warm-up will take place around 30 minutes prior to the start of each event.
Where is the pre-race baggage drop?
  • Dublin baggage area will be located on Mayor Square in IFSC
  • Cork baggage area will be located in Millennium Hall (Cork City Hall)
Will there be medical facilities?
  • Yes, medical facilities will be in place for the race on the route.
  • All medical facilities will be clearly sign posted.
I’ve registered in the wrong city. What should I do?
  • Please contact us by email at and we’ll switch your registration to the correct city, as long as there are spaces available.


Samsung are delighted to partner with Dublin City Council to bring this unique event to life.

Dublin City Council

The Events Unit is responsible for granting approval for events and/or activities taking place in the public realm. We also facilitate and partner events, provide an advisory role and a liaison service for events and initiate events. It is the objective of Dublin City Councils Events Unit to :-

  • Animate the city
  • Bring economic benefits to the city
  • Grow the tourist and local visitor numbers

In addition to the Samsung Night Run there are lots of exciting events happening in 2014 including the Brian Boru Millennium celebrations the highlight of which is Dublin City Councils Battle of Clontarf Festival in St. Annes Park, Raheny on 19th and 20th April, which will have the biggest re-enactment event ever staged in Ireland. The Giro D'Italia is coming to Dublin on the 11th May. Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland are hosting the first three days of this year's Giro d'Italia. Stage three will start in Armagh on 11th May with the route going through counties, Louth, Meath, Fingal and finishing in Dublin City on Merrion Square West, at approx 16.30 hours.

Cork City Council

Cork City, in reality, could be classified as a City of Festivals with a range of diverse festivals and events throughout the year, many of which are supported by Cork City Council. Bookended by the French Film Festival and the hugely popular Glow – A Christmas in Cork, there's something for everyone in Cork's busy calendar – St Patricks Festival, the Choral Festival, the Midsummer Festival, the World Street Performance Championships, the Film festival, Folk Festival, Jazz festival, and including many sporting events such as the Cork City Marathon, Ocean to City Race, Cork City Sports and the Lee Swim. Athletics Ireland

Athletics Ireland is the national governing body for athletics in Ireland. Its primary objective is to promote and develop the sport at every level from recreational running and schools competitions through to supporting Ireland's elite athletes in international competition.

Athletics Ireland retains a strong volunteer ethos and the thousands of administrators, officials and coaches who give freely of their time play a vital role in our organisation. We have 316 affiliated clubs with a combined membership of over 50k juvenile and senior athletes.

98FM “The PPI Music Station of the Year” are proud supporters of the Samsung Night Run 2014. The race offers participants the rare opportunity to run on the streets of Dublin at night and take in some of the most iconic sights along the way. 98FM which boasts some of Dublin's most popular radio shows including “The Ray Foley Show” in the morning and “Dermot and Dave” in the afternoon will have their street team “The 98FM Thunders” present on the night of the run and will also be broadcasting live on the big day.
